“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.”
– Oprah Winfrey
How many people do you know, are actually happy and content doing something they love? Let’s go a little deeper than that. How many people do you know feel like they are living the life they wanted to lead? Now ask yourself those exact questions. Are you doing something you love? Are you living the life you want to lead?
It’s understandable. I get it. Reality happens and other things take place or precedence over your needs and wants. You’re struggling to survive and make ends meet, and don’t have the resources. You are taking care of your family and other responsibilities so it’s put on the back burner. You are in your own way, allowing whatever internal struggle you face to hold you back. Or you just can’t seem to catch a break making you feel like every time you take two steps forward you take one step back.
The thing is…life is too short. And the fact is…the step by step process requires sacrifice. In order to work for your dreams you might have to work multiple jobs to get the money to invest in yourself. You may not sleep as much to get things done. You may have to adopt the practice of multi tasking. You have to be your own super hero and stand up and fight for your future and your happiness. Aren’t those the things that make an adventure what it is. An adventure is daring and exciting! It tests your limits, it tests your character, and it tests your faith! There are many highs to appreciate and many lows to overcome. But when it’s all said and done YOU LIVED IT. You didn’t just exist day to day. You didn’t become stagnant in accepting “there’s nothing more to my life, this is what it is.” You didn’t let discouragement completely deter you. You got through it and reaped the benefits of your sacrifice, and then continued to evolve. That is the difference in asking yourself those questions when answering no, because right now you can make the choice to do something to change it.
For so long I’ve been one of those people who have an idea of who she wants to be. But it’s time for me now to start taking action in actually becoming that person. I’ve been wanting to start a blog since I was eighteen years old. That’s seven years of putting that on the back burner. And when I reflect back on the why…I honestly can’t remember. I could have found a way to make it work on top of my other responsibilities. But that’s what happens when you decide to take action. You gain perspective so when the next circumstance or opportunity takes place you won’t be as apprehensive. You’ll take it on as a part of your adventure and journey. I’ve finally started my blog and it’s already helping me become that person I’m striving for, knowing it gives me accountability. I can’t just talk about these things I have to be about them as well. Which in turn I believe will affect many components of my life.
So how bad do you want it? How bad do you want to follow your dream or live the life you want to lead? I one hundred percent agree with my TV mom Oprah. This is the biggest adventure you can embark on. And today I’m on my ready for adventure vibe! You can’t say I CAN’T, you have to start saying I CAN…AND I WILL. Make sure to comment and share! And remember to never stop striving for the life you want to lead!
